Course Editor Guide

In this article, we explain the functionalities of the Course Editor. This builder allows organisations to create their own courses which can be used as part of Training Campaigns to enhance the cybersecurity awareness of their personnel.

1. Navigate to Course Editor and click on the Add Course option:

You will be prompted with the following window:

2. Let’s enter some details to proceed:

3. Click on Create:

4. On the confirmation prompt, select Create or Cancel accordingly:

5. If you have selected to Create, you will be displayed with a final prompt, just click OK to continue:

6. To start setting up a course with material, click on the Add content to your course option or the Add button:

Many options are available:

7. As an example, let’s demonstrate the addition of a Content unit to our course:

Properties about to be described for this unit are very similar with the ones you will come across in the rest of the units that you will potentially add to a course. Some exceptions do exist, such as tests and surveys.

8. First off, we need to add a Unit name:

9. Underneath, there is a text box with different editing options where we can add text:

10. We can also change the completion method of a unit. Let’s click on the With a question option:

11. In this instance, we will choose to create a Multiple choice question:

12. Tick the boxes next to the answers to indicate the correct ones. You need to have at least one answer set as correct:

13. You can always hover over an answer and click on the trash can button to delete it.

14. To add more answers, click on the Add answer option:

15. Click on Save or cancel accordingly:

16. Next to the Select a question box, you can find additional options for that specific question:

17. Click on the actual box to choose a question from the list. In this example, we’ve created just one.

18. You can generally Save and (go) back to units list or add another question without returning. Alternatively, we will Save and view how such material appears to recipients.

19. The recipient can now enter an answer and click on Submit answer to complete it.

20. Let’s view the After a period of time completion method:

21. Entering some details:

22. As we can see, the question completes once the set Time limit is reached:

23. Finally, let’s check out the With a checkbox option:

24. Just click on Complete to finish this unit:

25. All completed units should have a Completed status indicated at the bottom:

26. To redo a unit, you can click on the triangular icon next to the status and select Reset unit:

27. Alternatively, you can click on Go Back to return to the units’ page:

28. Hover over the content you’ve just added, you will be able to view different actions you can perform:

29. Let’s add a few more units/material. A typical course will probably include the following:

Sections are essentially there to part the material of the course. On the other hand, test units can be used as quizzes, whereas surveys can be used to gain feedback. As mentioned earlier, tests and surveys include more options and properties than the rest of the units. To keep this guide brief, further options will not be demonstrated here, but you can always contact our support if you find any difficulties along the way.

30. Click on the Test to view its available editing options:

You will find the different question types and options particularly useful.

31. Let’s edit the Survey to view its available options:

Again, different survey types and options will be needed to make a proper survey.

32. Click on Reorder to set the order of the content in the course:

33. Drag and Drop a unit to alter its position and click on the Reorder button once more to apply the changes:

34. On the right-hand side, under the CONTENT option you can find the FILES. Click on that option to view the files that are already uploaded in this course:

35. Select the indicated button to browse and upload a local file, or drag and drop it directly in that area:

36. Alternatively, you can choose to Upload from an external URL:

37. Just enter the required URL and click on the Upload button.

38. Let’s also view the last option of the menu under the FILES called RULES & PATH:

39. From here, you can change some course rules and conditions:

40. Click on the CONTENT option to navigate back to the units’ page:

41. As a final step, go ahead and select the Edit course option.

Many records can be changed, some of which are the course name, description, tags, etc.

42. Proceed with the Update course option if you’ve made the necessary changes:

43. Moreover, you can click on the triangular icon next to the Go to course content option and select to Delete this course:

44. Otherwise, you can click on the Go to course content and directly go back to the units’ page:
